The Korea Tripartite Commission(KTC) critically plays as a social dialogue body that the labor, management and government representatives make overall consultations for labor, industrial, economic and social policies coupled with the stabilization of employment and working conditions.
The KTC basically pursues realizing participatory democracy through the labor and management participation in the above policies.

Since it was set up in Jan., 1998 the Commission has greatly contributed to overcoming nation's economic crisises through social agreements and has been playing a critical role in resolving social conflicts which originate from structural reforms to uplift nation's competitiveness.

Labor policies for improvement of industrial relation systems, effectiveness of labor markets and elevation of quality of workers' life have been turned into reality by the KTC. On top of it, the Commission has encouraged tripartite bodies consisting of labor, management and government to assiduously implement agreements, thereby strengthening social dialogue systems on the basis of strong confidence among labor, management and government.

The social polarization as an undesirable effect of the globalization has growing more and more serious than ever before and has produced many social conflicts.
In response to these social conflicts, we will much struggle to seek and discuss agendas for alleviation of the polarization and protection of the weakest segments.
To achieve these goals, the Commission will go all-out to rebuild a realistic social dialogue system to give hopes to all of the people and will strive very hard to seek for dialogues that all economic actors are encouraged to join.
